The Pakman Awards 2023

The Pakman Awards 2023 were held at an evening event in the Shelbourne Hotel on the 26th of October 2023. This yearly event rewards many innovative and hard working recycling projects and companies on what was a relaxed and fun the night,

Recycle IT is extra happy as winner of Pakman Community Recycling Initiative of the Year 2023 for our work with South Dublin County Council on a community mattress recycling project which helps removed mattresses from potential incineration or landfill and demonstrates a real example of transition to a circular economy.

What are the Pakman Awards?

The Pakman Awards are Ireland’s leading National Environmental Awards that recognise excellence in recycling and waste management among businesses, organisations, community groups and individuals in Ireland. All organisations who demonstrate their sustainability and environmental efforts may enter.  

The Pakman Awards are divided into 11 categories including the Overall Pakman Award, ranging from ESG Leader, Community Recycling Initiatives, Innovation in Waste Resource Products or Service to Business Recycling Champions and Waste Prevention Awards.

Recycle IT, is an award-winning social enterprise offering electrical, electronic and metal recycling services through drop-off and collection. Recycling services are provided in partnership with WEEE Ireland and South Dublin County Council.

Recycle IT is supported by Pobal and Dormant Accounts and authorised by the National Waste Collection Permit Office and the local authorities across the east midlands waste region.

Our goal is to create training and employment opportunities through the provision of waste management services. Surplus earned income is reinvested in operational, and employment-related costs.
