Change is good!
As you will know from information in the media there is general belief that emissions of greenhouse gases are a key factor in climate change and that urgent action by people, worldwide including governments, business leaders and individuals is required to ensure emissions firstly stand still and then are reduced so further harm to world is stopped.

The overall message to nations is one of less reliance on fossil fuel and mining of raw materials. Nations need to work on developing a low-carbon society. Recycling can help and especially recycling electrical and electronic waste. It supports the recovery of valuable metals and plastics which ultimately reduces the need for mining and drilling. This results in the reduced use of fossil fuel and processing of raw materials.
Why recycle?
Each year, individuals and organisations throw away millions of electronic appliances so it important to constantly remind ourselves that recycling electronic waste helps protect our health and our environment by:
- diverting thousands of tons of waste from landfills and incinerators;
- keeping toxins such as lead, mercury and cadmium from contaminating the air, water and soil; and
- conserving natural resources by allowing valuable materials to be reclaimed and reused, rather than using virgin raw material.
